Yes, but I think sports should start in the morning and end before school begins, forcing the school day to begin later, when students are more alert. I also think everyone should be in some sort of creative/dramatic/musical/artistic after school activity, where they can end their day on a calm and quiet note. Sports games should take place on weekends only and coaches should not be teachers, nor paid by the district, but by the participants' parents.
Wow, I think that is an interesting idea, however, it's extremely hard to find a time that is feasible. Are you going to have 6 am practices every morning? Kids will be exhausted, and will not get enough sleep. I completely disagree that coaches should not be teachers. One of the best ways for a coach to get to know their players more is by seeing them on a daily basis and keep them accountable at school. Just because some coaches are lazy and don't teach very well, doesn't mean every coach that's a teacher is. I am a coach and a teacher and I am passionate about both. The root of the matter is to find passionate coaches who are also passionate about teaching.
