ExtraCurricular Activities?

Do you think that students should be required to participate in some form of an extra curricular activity?

Fear for Education in Indiana

http://doe.in.gov/

If you haven't had a chance and have some time, watch or read Tony Bennett's State of Education Address.

If they want good teachers in the schools, the responsibility starts with principals hiring good teachers and evaluating them.  However, by basing pay and evaluation on test scores and things of that nature is not fair to teachers.  Sometimes, teachers cannot control the classes they are dealt, and the type of involvement their students' parents have in their children's lives.  No matter how good a teacher you are, if the kids don't actively get into their education and if they don't have parents who are active, then it is extremely hard for teachers to succeed.  What do you all think??

Technology in Education

Does technology help education?  I definitely think so!  With today's ever changing technologically advanced society, educators must continue to strive to be more creative, more engaging, and more entertaining.  Otherwise, we will not be able to keep our students interested.  Therefore, this post is for us all to offer in  different ways to do that.  I look forward to seeing your recommendations.

One way teachers can make their content more creative is by using PREZI....Prezi.com is a great tool and resource that teachers can use that is much more interesting than the standard powerpoint.  Take a look and tell me what you think the differences are between prezi and powerpoint and why you think there are some advantages to it.

Thanks!
